This thread got me thinking.

What happens when so many enemies have united because of a common threat when that common threat is past? What holds all these factions together once there are no elder dragons? What kind of pressure would the former commander be under to be the glue that keeps them together, though that's a task that should fall to no one person?

Maybe too complex a story for this kind of game. But there could be a lot of potential there.

I'd like the exact opposite.

With the end of the dragons, I'd like to see the writers take the opportunity to scale the conflict back. I'd like villains with understandable motives and interesting personalities, instead of mountain sized forces of nature that can only really be understood by others of their own kind because they are so far beyond mortals.

I'm plenty okay with fighting to save a local people or a region, rather than constantly being on the brink of the destruction of the entire world. At some point, the threatened destruciton of all and everything just becomes so mindnumbingly big and tiresome.

Actually came out of my mouth playing PvP today. Can't throw a rock without hitting one.

Although, a fair amount are Norn, since female Norn are largely just gianthumans. All the better to display your fantasies for all to see.

Depends on if they could get people to pay for it in the gem store.

Make it a lounge, make the pass automatically port you back to where you were when you initially used the pass, like the other two mists lounges, and maybe add the benefit that you can port in your party for added enticement.

I'm not saying it wouldn't take any developmental resources, but all of the parts are already there, so it would just take coding it to be available.

I just want to say it's awesome that you had the courage to try it.

I've seen people abuse commanders as well, and I know enough about leadership to know that no matter how well you know your stuff, leading it is a whole different ball game, and it takes trying to lead to learn to lead.

It's too bad people get abusive.

Not changing it back, so much, but making it avaialble in an alternate way. And they have a magic justification in lore for pretty much anything called, "The Mists".

One thing that would be nice would be to open up the borders of the story instances. They are pretty tightly constrained.

I know it would be like a museum, because there wouldn't be an interactable stuff beyond what the story mission requires. Just recently, though, I was accompanying my daughter on her personal story, and after each mission we would walk around the allowable borders, getting a good look at old LA. If those borders were opened up, we could at least take a nostalgia trip on a new character, and even give a tour to players who never got to experience the old LA.

Even better, though, would be a lounge pass that lets us use old LA as our lounge of choice.

Hey, I didn't ask for any outfits to be removed, and didn't even ask for this change. I'm not sure why it's so upsetting to you. The armor is still easily available if you want it.

A quick look at things released in the past few years demonstrate clearly that ANet isn't trying to shift the game. If anything, they are making more outfits that show skin. My guess is that they made this to make the game a little more immediately palatable for some other cultures they'd like to gain audience in.

Kinda funny to choose "I'm not dressed for cyberpunk" when almost the entire medium weight skin catalog has looked like it was inspired by the Matrix since launch. 😄

Well, I've never watched Game of Thrones. I did read the Song of Ice and Fire books. Unfortunately, I've never read the last two because Martin apparently got too wealthy not finishing the series.🙄

It makes for a nice story to think that peace brings great advancement and conflict sets back technology, but is that historically accurate?

Sometimes great advancement has comebecause of conflict, and civilian applications for that tech comes later.

The defensive vs offensive gear debate doesn’t have to be so black and white. Training wheels can be a good way to learn your profession.

Whenever I start playing a profession and build I’m not familiar with, I often start with a blend of the two. Marauders or trailblazers on armor, zerkeror vipers on weapon and trinkets. It gives a little space to learn my skills and get muscle memory for my key binds.

Then, as Iget comfortable, I trade out the armor pieces for the dps traits.

If the OP hasn’t given up on the game, I’ll add that scrolling down the metabattle open world builds to the Solo section might be helpful. These builds are designed to solo Champs and other hard things, so they give a good amount of breathing room in regular content.

I got the seven reaper longbow, myself. It wasn’t a set so was aware of, but I think it’ll fit my Ranger nicely.

So, zoomed out, completely non-technical, light armor has their butt capes attached to their pants, medium armor has theirs attached to their chest piece. Not compatible.

This is just the most glaring example, for clarity.
