Go downstairs and an earthquake will occur. A man will tell you that a path has been opened to the temple of Mira. Go out through the upper path and you will have 2 groups to follow, it can be Alm's or Celica's. Here we will go for Celica first... And from now on, reinforcements will come from the forts unless you reach them and defeat the enemy that is there at the beginning.
What do I mean by reinforcements? That small groups of enemies will come (sometimes very strong, others not) and you will have to fight against them. There are many and they can reach you anywhere... being a random matter where they will end up being anywhere there might be a battle, as they can move like you. In addition, you will have to fight against all of them at once or they could get into existing fixed battles already explained in the guide.

It can be very difficult if you're not prepared, so I advise you not to wander around the map looking for experience, I even recommend that you get experience in the Previous chapter if you have a save from there (in ThiefShrine is fast at low levels).

Note: Reinforcements will spawn from FortGrieth and MiraTemple unless you defeat the main enemy at those locations. So in case you have a "reinforcement" very close on the continent map, use the option to see turns: A on Alm / Celica and choose the penultimate option. This causes the map reinforcements to sometimes move first.

Important:
- The boxes with numbers indicate starting positions of the characters according to where they are in the unit list (A button on Alm / Celica → Units).
- Battles on the continent's map, while they are the main enemies in them, have a limit of 40 turns (20 in a few cases) where if you go over that limit, you will automatically exit the battle and go back, where you could end against another enemy on the map if it moves next. But it is quite rare for it to happen unless you are in an area where reinforcements are coming out.

Additional objectives- Prevent Palla and Catria from dying to recruit them.

In this first battle you have the "help" of 2 pegasi, the girls who were looking for their sister and you meet in the previous chapter (Palla starts above and Catria below her). But more than helping, you will have to protect them if you want them to join you (And protect them, they will be VERY useful) because they are controlled by the game... so I advise you to order the characters in the most convenient way you want before entering to the map so that they appear in the right or left group.

Try to get your characters with swords to defeat the most thieves and focus more on the enemies the sisters are targeting and recover them if you can use Physic magic (learned by Genny at level 8). Use long range attacks on the sides of the other rivers to get rid of the enemies as well. And characters with good defense like Valbar on the bridges to stop the enemies.

Gaha 38 11 5 6 0 6 0

This enemy is in the left group, similar to the other enemies of the same class, nothing special.

By the way, there's a little trick with Genny's Illusion magic; If the spaces around you are occupied and if you are next to the river, you may have a chance to create your illusions on the other side of the river. It can be a little help.

Everything about Fire Emblem Gaiden (21) Exploring - S.Zofia

Everything about Fire Emblem Gaiden (22)

Additional objectives- Recruit Palla and Catria, if they were not defeated in the previous battle.

When you win the previous battle go to S.Zofia and talk to the pegasus sisters, Catria and Palla. Otherwise you won't have them on your team. Catria has an Angel Ring, this ring increases +1 every stat the user level ups, so try to give it to characters who are about to increase their level or who can't promote infinitely.

Everything about Fire Emblem Gaiden (24)

Additional objectives- Nothing additional.

Now continue to Mt.Grave. You will have another "random" battle. It is difficult for me to give you an exact strategy, since several gargoyles with skeletons can appear and other times only zombies with mummies (if you are lucky enough to get these, which are the same as zombies, defeat them with a character that you want to level up: they give you up to 100 experience), etc. The only advice I can tell you is that if you have Genny's Dear magic (he learns it at level 12), use it to destroy all the monsters. Then go to the village that is on the mountain.

Everything about Fire Emblem Gaiden (25) Exploring - Mt.Village

Everything about Fire Emblem Gaiden (26)

Additional objectives- Recruit Atlas (Talk to him).

In the village you will find a few people, one will ask you something and you must answer "Yes" or "No", and if you give him an item he will go to deliver it to Alm's group in ForestVill. If you do, give the Angel Ring, but almost towards the end of Celica's route, in order to take advantage of the fact that it improves the stat increase when leveling up. Then talk to another person in the upper corner, this is Atlas. Note that when trading like this, the item just appears on the other group's "convoy" on the world map.

When leaving the village you must repeat the same Battle #2, although as I said, the enemies vary. Then you can go up or right. I recommend that you go to the right, you will be able to go up a few levels; the battles on the way up are a bit tricky. And choose before what you are going to decide to do, every time you pass through the cemetery you have to repeat the same Battle #2 and the reinforcements can accumulate.

Everything about Fire Emblem Gaiden (27) Battle 3 (DesertFt.)

Everything about Fire Emblem Gaiden (28)

Additional objectives- Steel Bow (Boss).

Remember that in this FE the pegasus do not take extra damage from arrows if the enemies do not have a bow equipped... and if they do, it is only the power of the weapon that is multiplied x3. It's a VERY good idea to use them here; that light orange terrain is sand, and will reduce the movement of all non-flying units.

Wait for some enemies to approach you and defeat them then continue with the archers. Wait or go easy on luring a few, otherwise they'll fall back to recover and you'll have to deal with more enemies at once.

Then move towards the build with a character with good defense like Valbar (put him on space 8 or 5 and send him right up in the green path to get there fast), to be a shield against arrows. With the pegasus from outside and Valbar, and this one with a javelin, weakens the enemies. Your archers and mages will help you too, because they can attack from afar. With Genny and her Physic magic (which you should have, she learns it at level 8) have her recover whatever takes more damage.

HP Str Skl Spd Lck Def Res
Wolf 33 16 7 6 0 7 2

The Sniper (Wolf) has a Steel Bow that increases his attack range to 5 slots. Use Valbar against him. Otherwise, this can be one of the most tedious maps out there because of what it takes to get around in the arena. It's no joke that it will take you longer to do that than to fight.

Everything about Fire Emblem Gaiden (30) Exploring - DesertFt.

Everything about Fire Emblem Gaiden (31)

Additional objectives- Recruit Jeese (Talk to him).
- Steel Lance (treasure)

Enter DesertFt. and talk to the person inside the cell, also take the weapon that is inside the chest and equip the items you have to the characters who are missing one. Come out... and now it varies which path you take. If you go up or down, you will get one character or another; that would be the "boss" of the opposing enemy group.

- If you go up it will be Sonya (Mage).
- If it is downwards it is Deen (Swordmaster).

Both are good at stats, it's up to you who you want or not. You can only choose one. Although perhaps, if you're someone who likes to stop and level up at random encounters, Deen will be stronger for infinitely promoting in the Mercenary line.

Everything about Fire Emblem Gaiden (32) Battle 4A (N. Desert)

Everything about Fire Emblem Gaiden (33)

Additional objectives- Her Sword (Hero Sword))

This battle will happen if you go up.

You can try to enter the sand with Catria and Palla, to lure the group of Mercenaries below and defeat them with it; the thing is to make them not get together with the other. With your other characters go up with the grass path, it would be preferable for Valbar to go in the middle and in front, supported by your mages from behind and other units from the sand. Against the Swordmaster use Valbar, be careful if another character attacks you; his sword has a high crit rate.

Everything about Fire Emblem Gaiden (35) Battle 4B (S. Desert)

Everything about Fire Emblem Gaiden (36)

Additional objectives- Steel Shield

This battle will happen if you go down.

This one is more difficult. Mages can move faster around the sand and some will use their Warp magic to get to your weaker units and attack them. It might take time, but wait a few turns for the Mages to transport to where all your characters are. Since you will stay on the grass, you will be able to move your characters more easily; either to recover them with Celica and Genny, or to attack with all your characters. You can also try using the Pegasus to cross the sand and thus defeat the rest of the enemies that remain. Sonya starts in the bottom right corner but will join the others.

If you did this battle, Deen's group will go to "FortGrieth".

Everything about Fire Emblem Gaiden (38) Battle 5 (FortGrieth)

Additional objectives- Nothing additional.

It is better that you go for a single path. You may be unlucky trying to land a much-needed hit that will cost the death of a character of yours, as you may not have enough help on one side; especially for those Sniper and Mages who can attack from a distance. And again use the Pegasus to get there faster, but focus on defeating the enemies that your other characters can't reach.

Everything about Fire Emblem Gaiden (39)

Also remember to stay defensive when entering the fortress. All the enemies will go after you, except for the Shaman, Dark Knight, Mage and Swordmaster who are on top. By the way, Witches can use Warp magic if they want, be careful with your weak characters. And apparently, after defeating some initial enemies, the Shaman will start to create skeletons, although they are very simple if you use magic. But be careful with the Dark knight, he will go to attack you if you are in his attack range, have Valbar and your best NON-Mage characters close (at least to attack him, to recover and fight the skeletons) before going further into the Fortress, because its magic resistance is very high, also keep in mind that it could go to the pink square below to recover if you do a lot of damage to it... put someone there to attract the skeletons and not give it space to attack that unit or recover.

Additional objectives- Recruit Est, and Deen or Sonya (only who you haven't fought against, talk to them).
- Celica will promote.

Now enter the fort. Sonya or Deen will be waiting for you there, depending on the above. But there are also Est (left cell), and a girl (middle cell). Talk to Est and Sonya/Deen, but NOT TO THE GIRL FOR NOW. Talking to her will give Celica a crown, but rather, cause her to "promote" and go back to level 1. If you don't already have her at level 20 or close, you'll lose those valuable levels to get her stats up... go fight some monsters with her and only then make she receive the crown (since in fact, there is a part where you can get easy experience as explained in the tricks). Then go for the missing enemies on Celica's route. By the way, Celica when promoting does not change on anything.

Everything about Fire Emblem Gaiden (43) And something important; By having the three Pegasus sisters you can make an automatic critical attack, just put them around an enemy in a "triangle shape" and attack with one of them.

By the way, you will have to repeat Battle #2 at least once as you have to advance further.

Everything about Fire Emblem Gaiden (45)

Additional objectives- DarkSword (Boss).

In this battle only worry about the Mercenary that is on the left; it brings a Dark Sword. Use the Pegasus to cross and attack him (if you have trained them or with the triangle attack if you have all 3), or send one of your characters with good speed and strength, up the bush, along with a Mage to help him from behind.

The other enemies are weak, but the Witch has Fire and Warp magic. It's best to wait for them to get close to you and not have someone with low HP.

Everything about Fire Emblem Gaiden (48)

Additional objectives- Nothing additional.

Enter this cave ONLY if you have a well trained Celica, or at least some good Pegasus Knights (Pegasus Riders Promotion). Those zombie dragons are lethal without it. Remember that only 10 characters, including Celica, can enter this map so arrange them in such a way that you have your best characters in the top 10.

This is because Celica's Pegasus Knight and Angel magic (or Genny''s, Mae and Sonya who also learn it, but it takes longer) are effective against monsters. Also use Genny's illusions as a simple decoy... and recover whenever you can, never let the enemies get too close to your other units.

Everything about Fire Emblem Gaiden (49) Exploring - Dragon Temp

Everything about Fire Emblem Gaiden (50)

Additional objectives- Lion head bonuses: Revive allies.

Jumping in here is optional anyway... but at least inside, you'll be able to promote those who need it and revive fallen allies. If you have not lost anyone there is not much to do.

Everything about Fire Emblem Gaiden (51) Battle 8 (MiraTemple)

Everything about Fire Emblem Gaiden (52)

Additional objectives- Nothing additional.

If you went the other way before, this battle won't cost you anything... you should already have several promoted characters at least, because in this game it doesn't matter so much what levels you promote them at, the gain is minimal if you do it at 20 or 15, but try to get it around level 15 or closer at least. And in this fight it is only a matter of advancing and attacking.

But the problem is the Shaman. It is not on one of the pink squares, but it can create Gargoyles, and these can cross all terrains; They will hit your units very easily. Try to quickly defeat the rest of the enemies, and go against him. If you have the promoted Pegasus do it quickly and attack him and you will get rid of the only complicated thing in the battle with the Triangle Attack... and along with it, all the gargoyles will disappear. So keep that in mind if you have any problem; You can also defeat the rest and leave the Gargoyles, and then only defeat this boss.

Once you're done, enter Mira's shrine.

Additional objectives- Lion head bonuses: +Strength, +99EXP.
- The Chest and other things are obtained only in the next chapter.

In the Sanctuary go through the green door, go down the stairs to your left. Talk to the only person there and if Celica received the crown in "FortGrieth", it will open one of the gates that will allow you to continue on your way... but that ends your chapter with Celica for now.
Before, take advantage of using the right head (raises the exp of a character to 99 points), go out to a battle, go up a level... and repeat it 2 more times; You will have leveled up 3 times in no time and some x2 stats with the Angel Ring if you equip it, very useful with a character at high levels or close to promoting.

As an additional detail, if you haven't finished Celica's route yet or are about to finish it, send Alm the Angel Ring with one of the people in Mt.Village, because with this item the points earned when leveling up increase x2. Remember that the exchanged item appears in the general inventory of the opposing group (A button on Alm or Celica → Item → Take).
